Happy 4th Birthday Olivia!!!

1/9/14

Well, it finally happened...My baby turned 4 years old!!!  I can't believe I am the mom to a 4 year old!!!  Well, I can most days bc I am exhausted!!!  I am only lucky mommy though!!  You are definitely one of the sweetest and smartest little girls, with such a kind heart!!!  I love the little lady you is becoming!!!

Since your 3.5 birthday, you have changed so much!!!  You can now put on your clothes all by yourself (including your coat!!!!), with the exclusion of socks sometimes...they can be a bit tricky!!  You also like to pick out your clothes by yourself now too!!!  This is fun and funny looking sometimes!!  You are going to the potty all by yourself too and can wipe without help, even though mommy gets to double check sometimes :)  You can even brush your teeth all by yourself!!!  You like to brush your hair by yourself too, but we need just a bit more practice on getting all the tangles out!!  You love to shower and wash off all by yourself...and you love a long, long, long shower!!!

You are still an amazing big sister!!  You and Caroline are doing such a great job of playing together...most of the time!!  You help me get tissues when Caroline has snot.  You give Caroline snacks or drinks when mommy is busy.  You pretend Caroline is your baby all the time.  I love that you introduce her to others as "my baby Caroline"!!  It is so sweet!!

You are really into coloring now, and you can color inside the lines really well now!!!  You can even draw shapes that look more like people now!!!  You are drawing and cutting out shapes too!!  You can name all the shapes with no problem!!  Cutting is no problem either...you can cut big and small things!!  You can write your name all by yourself!!!  We had learned about 11 letters by 3.5 but then forgot some.  We are now back up to about 15 letters and working hard to learn the rest!!  You can recognize all the numbers from 0-10, which is amazing!!!  Just in the past few weeks, you have become interested in writing letters and numbers, so we are working on that a little each day.  You are doing a great job with it!!!  School has made you so excited to learn!!  You absolutely love school and have total fits when you have to miss.  I am sooooo glad you love going, just like I did when I was a little girl!!  We are so proud of all your are learning to do!!

You still love TV...and who can blame you!!  You are learning so much from Team Umizoomi and Bubble Guppies.  You also really like Dora and Olivia.  It is amazing how much information you actually recall from these shows!!  You still love Sophia the First, Doc McStuffins, Henry Hugglemonster, and The Little Einsteins.

You started doing some new things during these past 6 months:
You started taking swim classes!!!  This is a lot of fun for you, and it is very important!!  Since mommy doesn't like to swim very much, I want to make sure you are comfortable in the water.  Hopefully, by starting early, swimming will be one of your favorite things and you will excel at it!!
You also started your 2nd year of dance class!!
You began your 2nd year of preschool in the 3 year old class with Ms Denise and Ms Mary!!
We celebrated your 4th Christmas!!!
You and Daddy had your first Daddy/Daughter date to see the movie Frozen!!! (11/28/13)
You are going to Sunday School regularly and are really learning a lot about Jesus!!  Very excited about this
one bc before, you screamed when we would drop you off and you went to big church most of the time
and just colored or did stickers.  Glad you are able to get Bible stories geared to your age!!!
You got to go to the fair for the first time in NC!!!  You also rode rides and a roller coaster for the first time
     too!!
You went to your first parade!!!  It was only a little parade in Fenton and it wasn't very exciting, but at least
     we went!!!
You got your first ice cream treat from the ice cream truck!!!  That is truly a milestone!!!
Another big event was going to your first movie...The Lorax!!  We went during the summer movies for $1!!!
You also participated in your first Operation Christmas Child!!!  You picked out all the items for a little girl
your age and helped pack it all up and deliver it to the church.  You even wrote a sweet note to the little        girl!!

Some of your favorite things these days:
Music - You love to sing and dance and put on shows!!!  Oh, and you love to play instruments, especially
     your guitar or drums!!
Princesses - You are still very much into princesses: dressing up, princess dolls, princess stickers, etc.
Puzzles - You like to do them with help, but we are working on trying to do them on your own!!!
Babies - You still love to play with babies...even pretending like you are one sometimes!!
Cooking - You like to help mommy do more cooking these days when you are able to help!!
Pretend Play - You are always wanting to pretend you are the baby or mommy or cowgirl.  You have a
     great imagination!!
Coloring/Art - You absolutely love to color and paint these days!!!  We actually need to buy more paint
now...think you will get some with your birthday money!!
Swimming - You are taking swimming lessons now and are doing a great job at learning to swim!!
Outside - You still love to play outside whenever possible!!
Dessert - You love any kind of dessert: ice cream, cookies, donuts, candy, cake, etc!!!!!

There is so much more to tell, but I can't think of it right now!!!  You are one amazing little girl!!!  You still throw fits sometimes, but you are doing better.  You seem to be understanding that fits do not help.  But,  mostly fits only come out when you are tired.  Luckily, you still take a nap most days, which helps with the whining problem!!  Even when you are whining, we still love you more than anything!!! You brighten our days and our lives!!  You keep us on our toes and keep us laughing!!  You are our boo boo and we will always love you!!!  Happy 4th Birthday sweetheart!!!!
