FREEDOM!!!

Dec 12 - We had Olivia's follow up orthopedist s appt today. They took off her cast first. They used something that looked like a skill saw...but luckily it didn't cut skin. It was super loud, and Olivia was scared for sure. Luckily, I brought a ring pop!! Took her mind off of the cast and onto some sugar!! And of course, sweet Caroline slept through all the noise!!

Then we went to have an X-ray made. They took 2 pictures of the leg to make sure the break was healing. Afterwards, Olivia was rewarded with princess stickers!! A ring pop and princess stickers = one happy little girl!!

Then, we went to one last room to talk to the NP (nurse practitioner). While waiting for her to come in, I got a chance to wash this nasty leg!!!! A month without being able to wash her left leg creates quite a dirty mess!!! Luckily, it wasn't too bad. We did find LOTS of dog fur!!! Thanks Mac!!

So...her leg is mostly healed...there is a little bit left to go but nothing that should hinder her. She is walking a bit sideways now until she gets used to the cast being gone. After that, she will be as good as new!! We have to go for a follow up appt in a month...actually on her 3rd birthday...to make sure it is still healing. Other than that, she is all done with her first (and hopefully only) broken bone!!!

Afterwards...she got lunch at McDonald's as a treat!!  She LOVES fries!!!  Then we met some friends at the train store down the road.  Afterwards, we got donuts for the Day of Dozens (12-12-12)!!!!  Overall, she had a pretty good day!!!!

Sitting on the X-ray table...making a mess with her ring pop!!!

My leg is all better and I can wear socks and shoes again!!!!

On our way home from the train store...too cool!!!  Oh, we had to do a wardrobe change bc we had ring pop ALL over our other shirt!!!
