It is getting harder and harder to fnd time to write these days. Livy definitely keeps me on my toes in the best of ways...and we have been busy this past week and a half.
July 24th and 25th - Jay had off!!!! It was nice to have him home for more than a few hours. We pretty much spent out time at home but made some excellent dinners!!! July 25th I had a Thirty-One party with Nancy Cooke as the fabulous hostess!!! It was a lot of fun!!
This past week, July 26th - July 30th, I didn't have any babysitting, but we were not just being lazy. I spent the entire week getting my yardsale stuff together. I am giving a lot of it to Alecia (Grayson's girlfriend) but I had just way way too much to even transport, so I sold some of the items that I thought she would not care about quite as much or worked more for older students. I spent the week sorting out items, making sure all the pieces were there, putting price tags on them, and emailing friends and schools so that everyone would know about the yardsale. I will tell you how it went in a minute :)
July 29th - Livy and I had lunch with Lara and Baby Will!! We ate at Red Robin and then came back to the house for a baby visit!! Livy and Will played very well together. They held hands and even tried to have a cute little kiss!! It was really adorable!! Livy is about a foot taller than Will it seems!!
July 30th - Livy and I had a very busy day. We headed out first thing to Target to take back a few items and check on the prices of diapers. Then we went to the bank to get some change for the yardsale. Then we headed to Walmart for yardsale signs. Then we met LeeMarie for lunch at McAlister's Deli. It was so good to catch up!! She and Matt moved toWake Forrest for his residency. We miss them a lot!!! But Livy and I had a great lunch with them!!! Later that night, Livy and I went to my friend Stacey's house for a fun cookout. I got to see a lot of my teaching buddies there too!! Livy did not do too well...she was super fussy. Stacey's husband Adam kept saying she had colic...HE IS CRAZY!! I think she just doesn't do well with a large crowd anymore. She definitely won't just go to anyone anymore and is more aware of her surroundings. We had to leave early from the party bc it was Livy's bedtime, but Darla was also on her way. She came Friday night so that she would be here bright and early Saturday morning to help with the yardsale since Jay had to work.
July 31st - Yardsale day finally came!!! We were up at 6:30 am getting stuff out of the house. The front was packed with so many things!! We sold a ton of stuff. We had lots and lots of teachers here!! I definitely gave a lot of bargains, esp for those first year teachers. I remember how hard it was getting ready and spending my own money to purchase items. We made $500 for Livy's swing set!!! I couldn't believe we made that much money. If I hadn't done so many deals, we prob would have made $600!!
That is not enough for her swing set yet...we will get her a good one when we move to St. Louis, but it is a good start!! If you want to contribute to her swing set fund by giving her money for Christmas and her birthday, that would be great!!!! I would really like to get her a nice swing set that her and her future brothers and/or sisters can use too!!!
We spent the rest of the day trying to clean up, pack up items, and running errands!! I love having Darla here bc I can leave her in the car with Livy and run into whatever store I need to. We got some dog food, diapers, and then got Kanki take out!!! It is so so yummy!! I also love Darla coming bc we always get Kanki!!! After eating dinner, Darla had to leave us and go back home.
Today, (August 1st), has been a lazy day so far. Jay was off today. Livy didn't wake up until 8:30 this morning!! She only took 1 nap yesterday so she was pretty tired. She did wake up in the middle of the night with bad gas again, but I got her to go back to sleep. This morning when she woke up, she had pooped!! So, I guess her tummy felt much better!! She ate and we played some. Then she took a nap about 10 and so did I!! We both got back up about noon. Jay fed Livy some squash, peas, and applesauce while I went to get us lunch from Smithfield Chicken and BBQ!!! YUMMY!! While Jay and I were eating, Livy was watching us so intensely...she wanted some too, especially my tea!!!! We played some more and then it was time for Livy to have her 2nd nap...she chose to play instead!!! When she finally did fall asleep, she kept waking up crying like something was bothering her...so right now she is asleep on my chest while I am typing this blog!!! She is such an angel!!!
Not sure what will happen the rest of the day...
