Busy Month

This past month has been one of the busiest months we have had in a while.  Here is a little about what has been going on...

May 13th - My wonderful friend Kellie Huffman threw me a going away party.  It was supposed to be a surprise but she knew that we were planning on going to Missouri to look for houses so she decided to go ahead and tell me about it.  She invited all my bestest friends!!!  It was so great to see all of them before we go.  It is also sad bc I don't want to leave all my friends.  I am sure I will make new friends out there, but none as good as the ones I have here!!!

May 14th and 15th - Jay and I flew to Missouri to look at houses again.  We arrived about 10:00am.  Then we had to wait like an hour for our rental car.  We definitely won't rent from Hertz ever again.  Then, we started looking at houses.  I had been through tons and tons of pages of houses for sale and thought we had a really good selection of about 15 houses.  I was sure we would have a hard time deciding which one to pick...that was wrong!!!  As we looked at the houses, they each had problems that you could not tell on the internet.  Trust me, we were not looking for our dream home.  Just a home that we could occupy safely and comfortably for 4-6 years.  Well...either it was a bad neighborhood, it didn't have a yard, the bedrooms were too small, or we just couldn't figure out how to put the furniture in it.  We did decide on one house we thought would work and after seeing it only 1 time...we put in a bid!!!  Luckily, we got it bc we weren't sure what we would do it we didn't.  Anyway...the inspection and everything have gone through now and we should be signing the papers on June 27th!!!

Oh, we also left Livy for the first time this weekend...rather I did.  She did great.  My wonderful friend Kellie came over bright and early Saturday morning to stay at our house until Livy woke up and Grandma Maureen got there to pick her up.  She went to the fair grounds with her grandparents for the RV show.  That evening, Livy came back to stay with Aunt Darla at our house through the night and until we got home on Sunday.  I as definitely excited to see my baby!!!

May 15th - We signed a lease for a rental house right up the road from our previous house.  The closing date for our house was May 20th so we needed to get all our stuff packed up and moved out of there.  Luckily the house down the road was for lease and didn't have an occupant...so we got it!!  It has more spiders than any place I have ever been, and weird looking spiders too.  It is definitely in need of updating but it is working for us now.  And, it is helping Jay bc he isn't having to drive a ton back and forth from work.  It is a 2 story house but we are only living on the first floor.  Livy's bedroom is the dining room and has a blanket for a door!!!  Our bedroom is the family room.  We are managing but are soooooooo ready to move to our own place!!!!

May 20th - We officially sold our first house :( :)  It is good and bad.  That house had so many memories but I know we will make many more happy ones in the new house.


May 22nd - We all met at Jim and Maureen's for a final farewell before they left on their summer long trip.  Jacob and Livy had a blast in the kiddie pool!!!  Everyone enjoyed the time together!!

June 1st - My official last day keeping Lilly...Olivia's friend.  I know Olivia will really miss playing with her and I will miss all her hugs!!!

June 3rd - Livy rode the carousel for the first time today!!  It wasn't a big carousel...just a small one outside Roses.  She loved it and threw a fit when I took her off!!

June 3rd was also my official last day keeping Emilie and Ryan.  I have now known them for 5 years.  The kids have changed so much.  I can't imagine what they will be like in 5 more years.

June 5th - We had family pics made today on Carolina's campus!!!  Shoot Me Pretty and Kelly did a great job!!!  I can't wait to see all the pics she took!!

We also had a farewell dinner tonight at Emilie and Ryan's house.  Jean and Steve made a delicious pork tenderloin that was amazing.  Our friends Amy and Steve and Cory and Scott and their kids all got to come over too.  It was nice getting a chance to hang out with everyone all at the same time!!  The Kirschner's also gave us a beautiful pic of the old well and a lovely pair of diamond earrings goodbye gifts.  Very thoughtful!!!

June 7th - Livy has learned how to say "cheers" and hit your cup.  I have been doing it with her for a couple weeks now but she never says it back.  On this day, she finally picked up her cup and told me "cheers"!!!
