Olivia all dressed up for church!!
But, we are trying to get back into church here. We went to Manchester United Methodist Church for their contemporary service today. Our neighbor with the 3 kids recommended it to us so we thought we would try it out.
We went in thinking we would check out the nursery area and try to put Livy in there. We went back to the children's area to drop her off. When we got back there, there were 2 workers and about 3 kids screaming their heads off. Jay and I were both like...lets take her into church and see how she does. So, we sat on the back bench. We had brought juice, snacks, markers, paper, books...all to keep Livy quiet and busy!!! She did fine at the beginning and seemed to enjoy the music too. She loved coloring. About halfway through the service she was getting fussy so Jay took her out. I followed a few minutes later, and we took Livy back to the children's area again. The kids all seemed to be playing and having fun now so we sent Livy in to see how she would do. She walked right and and went and got an animal to play with. We went to sign in and when we left, she was playing with the other kids. Needless to say we didn't get a ton out of the message bc we were a little worried about her. But, we did enjoy the preacher!!
When it was all over, we went to pick up Livy. She looked so scared. All these kids were being picked up by their parents and she was standing at the door starring at each one with fear in her eyes. It was sad. But she was super excited when they opened the door and it was us!!! I was going to let her walk through the building before we got to the parking lot but she wouldn't let me put her down.
So...we all survived our first church visit together!! Next week, maybe Livy will go earlier...maybe not!! We will see!!!
