2 Month Doctor's Appointment

We had Olivia's 2 month doctor's appointment today. We knew it was not going to be fun. She got weighed first...12 pounds now!! She is in the 75% for her weight. She is 23.5 inches long. She is in the 90% for her height!! She is tall!! Her clothes fit her fine everywhere but her legs (and sometimes her arms are too long too). Her head size has decreased from the 75% to the 50%. The doctor said she was a very healthy, happy baby. I told her (and showed her) how she could stand up and hold herself up with just holding on to my fingers. The doctor said that was a 4 month old skill!!! AG classes for my baby girl!!!


After all the fun stuff, the nurse came in for the bad stuff. Olivia had to get 3 shots today. We laid her on the table/mat and she grabbed my fingers. I gave her the passy first to see if it would help. As soon as the first shot went in, the passy came out and she began to scream to the top of her lungs, all while looking at me. It was the worst feeling ever. Each time a new shot went in, her eyes got really big like she was saying, "why are you letting her do this to me?" Oh, it broke my heart. After the shots, she screamed for more than 15 minutes. I just sat in the room and tried to rock and soothe her but she was so upset. Finally she calmed down. We dried her tears (so so sad) and got her dressed. We had to change outfits bc the one we wore would have hurt our leg so we put on the extra one from our diaper bag. Then she got in her carseat with her passy to help soothe the pain. Then she fell asleep...thank God!! When we got home she woke up. She stretched out on the carpet for a bit and seemed ok. The leg didn't seem to bother her at this point. A little while later, my friends Kellie and Ellery came over and we all went on a walk. Olivia loved this bc she loves the motion of the stroller!!

She has seemed fine the rest of the night. She played on the floor with me and Mac. She stood up a lot too. She has sleep some also. I gave her some Tylenol before bed. She has been fast asleep since 8:45. Hopefully the Tylenol will take all the pain away and she will feel great in the morning!! If not, we will not be going to our mommies in motion class tomorrow.

So...We are blessed with a healthy, beautiful baby girl who is growing like a weed!!!
