Grant's Farm

Well...It has been a bit since we did this but I wanted to write about it anyway since it was so much fun!!!

July 29, 2011 -  One of the best things about the St. Louis area are all the kid friendly activities!!  You can find something to do everyday of the week...and most of it is free!!!  On this particular day, we decided to go to Grant's Farm.  Grandma and Papaw were visiting and their friends were going so we decided we would tag along.  Boy was it HOT!!!  I mean HOT!!!  Like 100 degrees outside or more.  You will definitely be able to see in the pictures how hot it was...Livy was a sweaty mess!!
Anyway, our neighbor Sharon and her grand-daughter went with us too!!  That was nice because they had been before. Sharon was great at giving us directions to get there, where to park, where to go in, and where the best exhibits were!!
We started out by going on the little train type thing.  It took us on a tour of the land.  We saw deer, buffalo, elk, goats, and many more fun animals!!  Then, when we got off, we got to buy milk to feed to the goats.  Sharon told us to feed the goats outside the fence or they would jump on you.  Well...Livy did part of that.  She took part of the milk inside...the goats did get her!!  She was very particular with the goat she wanted to drink her milk.  I got a great video of her going around trying to choose her favorite while the outcast tried to take it from her anyway!!  After feeding the goats, Livy rode the carousel with Grandma 2 times!!  What a treat!!  I was glad grandma was there bc those things make me dizzy!!  We then went to see the other animals.  We also went through the sprinkle garden area...so so so wonderful!!!!  We saw giant turtles, elephants, birds, snakes...and I am sure there were more, just can't think of them now!!  We had to have a treat while we were there...Livy had some frozen lemonade for like $1,000,000 and I had a glass of lemonade.  It was worth the $1,000,000 bc we were HOT!!  Did I mention it was like 100 degrees!!!
Anyway, by that point it was after 1 and someone needed a nap bad!!  Hot weather + hungry child + no nap = very grumpy Olivia!!!
Overall, it was a great trip!!  We definitely want to go back when it is cooler so we can see more of the animals!!

So cute!!
This was the lucky goat to get the milk inside the gate!!

It was definitely a fun day...despite the heat!!
