1st Voting experience

Well...Nov 6th has come and it is time to vote for another president.  I have never actually gone to vote in person.  I have always done an absentee ballot.  MO would not let me do that so I had to actually go and vote in person.  I had a dentist appt this morning and tried to go after it, but the line was long, and I didn't have enough time to wait before picking Olivia up from preschool.  So...I got Olivia and we went home for lunch and nap.  I figured, maybe Jay would get off early and I could run and vote after he got home.  I should have known that "Jay" and "get off early" don't go together!!!  So, I took both girls with me!!!

This was our first voting experience.  We got in.  Olivia did fairly well in line.  Then we showed ID and got our paper ballot bc it was a longer line to do it electronically.  We went up to the little stand to do our voting.  I gave Olivia some paper and pencil so she could do her own voting on her paper.  She colored at first...then decided, that wasn't what she wanted to do anymore.  She wanted to walk behind the dividers, hitting each of them as she went.  So, before she got to far down the row, I took her hand trying to convince her to come back my way.  If she kept going, there was no way I was going to get her back bc it was a tight space.  She could fit but my large rear could not!!!  As soon as I started pulling her hand to keep her from continuing her disturbing racket, she started yelling, "you're hurting me".  That is exactly what she needed to yell out in a room of voters.  I promise I wasn't hurting her...and if you know my child, you know she is DRAMATIC!!!  So, with a little pulling and convincing, I got her to come back out before disturbing too many other people!!!

So, we finished up our voting together and left!!!  At least we voted right!!!  Sorry if we ruined anyone else's voting experience!!!
