Well...only 24 weeks left to go!!! YEAH!! I am grumpier than usual (if you can imagine that). I think my coworkers are ready for me to go ahead and go out on maternity leave bc I get annoyed very easily these days. I need a track out soon!!! Only 5 weeks and 4 days left until track out!!!
Week 16 starts tomorrow!! Here is what is supposed to be happening this week...
The baby is about to experience a growth spurt!! He/She is about to double in weight in the next little bit. The baby is about the size of an avocado...about 4.5 inches long. The baby's face is becoming more normal looking...eyes closer to front, ears almost in correct position, head is more erect. He/She is growing toenails now. His/Her heart is now pumping more blood also. The scalp pattern is taking shape but you can't see the hair yet.
I am patiently awaiting the first kicks of the baby. Can't wait to feel them!!! They should happen sometime after this week. I had Jay try and listen for the heartbeat with the stethoscope last night, but he couldn't hear it. I will keep asking him to listen bc I can't work the stethoscope at all. If we hear anything, we will let you know!!
PS - We are starting to get some fun baby gifts. My friend Kellie is always giving us stuff. She recently gave us a little duck that you hang against the wall so you can measure the baby's height. This is nice bc we can take it with us when we move. My friend Stacey gave us a Monkey Teether, a rattle shaped like a barbell, and a rubber ducky. Presents are so much fun!!! I have been doing a lot of research. We will probably not register until after we find out what the baby is. We have several showers that are being planned (so excited about these!!). We have great family and friends that are taking care of us!! THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR ALL OF YOUR LOVE AND SUPPORT (and putting up with my craziness)!!!! We love you all!!! :)
