We have been talking about getting rid of the passy for months...we said when Livy turned 2 it was time. Well...at Livy's doctor's appointment today they said they recommend getting rid of it at 18 months. So...I decided there was more stalling...it was time to just do it.
So...I cut holes in it tonight..small ones at first and she didn't even notice so when she went to give the dog a night night hug I made a few bigger ones in it. This she noticed. We looked at the passy and said it was broken. She had to show daddy and Mac her broken passy and then she threw it away. She did go back to get it out of the trash once but again we said it was broken and she threw it back away. We put lots of babies in her bed tonight!!
I left her in her room at 8:23. I specifically put her down later hoping she would be too tired to fuss. Well...she has yelled out passy a few times but is fussing at her babies more!! She has only cried about 10 mins so far. She isn't asleep yet, just talking to herself. Guess she is trying to find a new way to soothe herself to sleep!!!
I got a wipey dipey baby on clearance after Christmas and plan to leave it in her bed after she goes to sleep as her reward!!! So...knock on wood...I think she is going to be ok!!!! And me too!!! Thanks for all the help and advice!! If I hadn't already decided to do it tonight, I would so have done the Build-a-Bear thing...take her to Build-a-Bear and see her passy up on a near. It sounds really cute!! But, can't go back now!!
I just hope naptime tomorrow goes as well as tonight did!!
