So...life continues to be crazy for us here!!! We did sell the house and finally go the inspection report back. It wasn't too bad. They did think the roof was leaking but our general contractor handyman said it was not. So..there were lots of little things that needed to be fixed but nothing major thank goodness. Today, Jay and Lee worked on the house all day long. We were very thankful that Lee could come out and help Jay. They got a lot of things accomplished on the list, but Jay has a few more to finish.
Darla and I spent the afternoon car shopping!!! Actually, I drove cars and Darla occupied Livy!! We went to Carmax to test drive a few mini vans so that I would know what to search for online. I drove the Honda Odyssey, Toyota Sienna, and Chrysler Town and Country. I really liked the Toyota best...then the Honda...then the Chrysler. The Toyota had the smoothest ride by far. At the end of the test drives, I did find out that not all Toyotas have dual power sliding doors. What is the point of a mini van if the doors are automatic?? I can't believe that. So...it has been a little harder looking for cars online since the ones that are priced the best and in my price range don't have the power sliding doors. I have found 2 I think that will work and that I can negotiate on the price some...hopefully one of them will still be available this week for me to get it.
Carmax said they would give me $3,000 for my car. I wasn't willing to take that at the time so we have put it on Craigslist. I have had a ton of emails about it so far today and have people coming to test drive it tomorrow. The Blue Book Value is $4,000 so I am trying to get as close to that as possible!!! Wish us luck!!
So, by the end of the week...we should have a new car!!! And, by the weekend...all the repairs on the house should be completed!!! So thankful all the hard work is about to come to an end!!!
