Missouri Trip

Well...last week (4/17 - 4/23) we went on our vacation to Missouri to find a house to live in for the next 4-6 years. 
We left out on Sunday when Jay got home from work. We stopped over in Asheville at Aunt Janie's for the night so that Livy wouldn't have to ride in the car for so long.  We got up the next morning and went to visit Jay's grandparents at the nursing home before heading to Kentucky.

So Monday afternoon, we set off for Kentucky to visit with Jay's Aunt Jill, Uncle Dale, and Cousin Allie!!  We had fun visiting with them too!!  We spent the night there.

Tuesday morning we set off for Missouri.  We got there about 4ish and checked in at our hotel.  Then our real estate agent took us out looking for houses.  We unfortunately got some bad storms.  We were out looking for houses in bad rain and hail.  Finally all the bad weather went away and the sun came back out!!  We found some cute houses this night but they were further away than we really wanted from the hospital.

Wednesday morning we went house searching again.  We found a couple houses that would work and that were closer to the hospital.  Unfortunately, we would be paying more than we wanted for smaller houses.  We did find one foreclosure house that we placed a bid on. 

Thursday we went and checked out 1 more house before leaving St. Louis for Kentucky.  We narrowed down our search to 3 houses.  We placed a bid on our 1st choice and had the others for backup.

Thursday, after lunch, we headed to Kentucky.  We got there later that night.  After Livy went to sleep, we showed Jill and Dale our possible houses.  We definitely enjoyed our visit.

Friday morning we left for Asheville again.  We got to spend time with Aunt Janie, Cousins Jennifer, Jackson, and Abby, and Aunt Kelley!!  We had a blast and Livy loved playing with the kids and being out of the car!!!  Saturday, after breakfast, we went to visit nanny and pappaw again. 

On our way home, we stopped off in Siler City to visit Lee, Kelly, and Jacob.  We hung out with them for a while and ate dinner.  Then we FINALLY made it home!!!

So...here is our housing update...
*  We placed a bid on the foreclosure house on Wednesday night.  They were supposed to get back with us and a counter offer by Friday but didn't.  Then our agent called and they were supposed to give us a counter by Monday night but they didn't.  It is Tuesday and we haven't heard anything.
*  The house we picked for our 2nd place house is not really what we want.  We have both almost talked ourselves out of that house.
*  Our 3rd choice went under contract on Saturday so it is now out of the running. 

So...hopefully the 1st house will work out bc the other choices don't seem to be working!!  We will wait and see what happens.
