August 28, 2012, We had our 37 week dr appt. We had an ultrasound first to make sure everything was fine. Those are always fun with Olivia!!! She is trying to climb up on the table, climbing on chairs, messing with all the equipment!!! Such a relaxing time for me :)
The ultrasound tech said Caroline's heartbeat was still good. She is still in the 140's. She had a very hard time trying to find all of Caroline...she was already so low, she couldn't get a good pic of her entire body. We didn't get any pics bc Caroline was so spread out and already in position to be delivered...sad we didn't get pics though.
We saw the doctor too. This was a new doctor we haven't seen before...Dr. Gearhart. She was really nice too!! This, again, was stress free with Livy trying to climb on the stool, grab all the stuff on the counter, playing with the light...oh so fun!!! The doctor said I was already 3 cm dilated and about 50% effaced. We were both thinking that Caroline would be here sooner, rather than later.
I did talk to her about doing a VBAC...Vaginal Birth After C-section. I figured, if Caroline was already in the correct position and more than likely coming early, why not try doing a vaginal birth again so that I would have a much easier recovery. She gave me a paper to read and fill out if I wanted to try. I read the paper and found out that problems occur with 1 out of 100 VBACs. That is crazy. Such a high amount and a lot of risk. I mean, a c-section comes with a lot of risks too, but VBACs just seemed to have extra risks. Jay said he didn't recommend it. So...we pretty much decided against it.
The appointment went well. Caroline is still doing fine. Things are doing well!!!
