Part of the reason we were allowed to go home so early is because we agreed to get Caroline checked out the following day by the pediatrician. This was a Thursday. Olivia had school this morning and the doctor's appt was at the same time Olivia's school started. Luckily, our wonderful neighbor Chris, agreed to take Olivia to school for us!!! That was so so helpful!!
So...early this morning, Jay took Caroline back to the hospital to get her blood drawn so that we could re-check her jaundice levels before her doctor appt. While Jay was doing this, I was getting Olivia ready for school.
Then, we headed to the pediatrician. The last pediatrician didn't give me that warm and fuzzy feeling, so I decided to find a new one before Caroline arrived. This was the first time we had met Dr. Mueller at Kids Docs. She and Jay had a good chat about Barnes Jewish Hospital. He caught her up on what was new there with the procedures and stuff. She seemed very interested in us and our family.
Next, she moved on to Caroline's check-up. Caroline had gone up to 7 pounds 8 ounces at this point. She was gaining weight!! YAY!!! The doctor met with us and said she was looking great. She wanted to make sure we kept Caroline on the bili-blanket at least 5 days bc her jaundice levels were higher, but other than that, she looked great. If need be, we were still supposed to supplement with formula until my milk came in.
At the end of the appointment, she asked if she could pray with us. What doctor does that? It was wonderful!!! She prayed for our parenting skills and for our girls...especially that they would grow up to be close with on another. So sweet!!!
So...we had a great visit with the new doctor and feel we definitely made the right choice to switch.
After the doctor's appt, we came home. Jay went back out to get Olivia from preschool. He loves me so much that he drove far away to get me Chick-fil-a for lunch bc I was craving it!! So sweet!! It was a nice day!!
