Big Day!!
Today was very exciting. I had another doctor's appointment today. It was the best one so far. I got to see the ultrasound tech. Jay and I decided to go ahead and do the genetic screening so that if anything is not perfect...we can find out and prepare for it in advance. So today was the first of a few tests. They were checking for Down Syndrome and Cystic Fibrosis today. The first part of the test is a very intense ultrasound. Our little bundle of joy was not participating fully. He/She moved right when we started and then would not move again. I got to hear the heart beat...160 bpm...very strong. The ultrasound tech kept pushing on my tummy trying to get he/she to move. I tried coughing...nothing was working. We even had to try the fun internal ultrasound...my favorite...NOT!! Still no movement. I asked her if he/she was ok...she said yes because we hear the heart beat. I told her he/she is a night owl bc it likes to keep me up at night. It takes after its momma there. At this point, she had not got the information she needed (she needed to see the back of the neck for the Down Syndrome test) so we tried drinking some Sprite and standing up a bit. Then after I set back down, the little munchkin was moving and bouncing. Very Very Cute!! This was very fun to see. I will post this ultrasound because it is too cute. We got some really good pics too. There is one with all the fingers and toes...adorable. You can really see the nose, eyes, and mouth now. So today was definitely exciting. The doctor said everything seemed ok...but they would wait for the blood tests also to make sure everything is still normal. She also gave me some drugs to help with the nausea. I am very excited to take them tonight and hopefully get a good nights sleep. She said they would help with sleep also. So...today was a very good day. Another good bit of news...I only gained 1 pound in 3 weeks!! YEAH!!! I feel like I have gained 100...and look like I have gained it also. Last time we saw the baby I was 8 weeks and 2 days but he/she was measuring 9 weeks. This time I was 11 weeks and he/she was measuring 11 weeks and 1 day!! Yeah!! Well...it was a very good day for us!! Hope you enjoy the fun video. Ignore my talking...I am not good at small talk with the technician!!
